Destiny really wanted to do her engagement session on Atlantic Beach and while I do love the beach it can be super tricky for photographing people. The wind and the sand can either really work with me or totally work against me. I’m so happy to say that Atlantic Beach and the Oceanana Pier worked PERFECTLY for their engagement session. Now. I won’t lie. It was COLD lol. Like barely hit 50 degrees that day. But they played it off really well. I mean, I wore a fleece so I couldn’t ask for much more than them not looking like ice cubes!
We started the session at the Fort Macon Beach access and explored the trees, dunes and beach. I love an overcast sky for shooting beach sessions and this day was amazing for that! We ended the session under the pier and it’s seriously one of my favorite places to shoot down at the beach. The old school wooden pier just makes an awesome backdrop. They popped a bottle of champagne (and may or may not have shook it up a couple of times for effect 😂) and it added such a fun element to the session. It was all Destiny’s vision so I’m happy that I could just capture it as it happened.
… and all at once, you are the one I have waited for.
